How Can I Buy a Harley-Davidson with Bad Credit?

If you have bad credit, you might be worried about the potential of getting approved for a Harley Davidson loan. However, the good news is that many people with bad credit are currently paying off loans on a Harley (and improving their credit) as we speak! Here at Hot Metal Harley-Davidson, we are very welcoming towards those with bad credit.

Looking to Get a Harley-Davidson with Bad Credit?

We understand how stressful it can be to shop for a motorcycle if you don’t have good credit. Having bad credit alone can often deter you from even trying to get a new Harley. However, you should know that buying a Harley Davidson with bad credit in Pennsylvania is normally very possible to do!

1. Figure Out What Model You Want

Start by thinking about what model you want to buy. This is the first and most important step to getting your loan approved. Don’t be too shy to shoot for the moon a little. The worst thing that can possibly happen is that you will have to settle for a cheaper model!

2. Determine a Suitable Payment Plan

With your favorite model already in mind, think about how much you can afford to pay each month. Then, we will calculate a payment plan which you will complete over the course of 48, 60, or 72 months’ time.

3. Be Ready to Make Sacrifices

In many cases, people with bad credit get their loan approved on their top option. However, there are sometimes cases where people need to settle for something they didn’t initially want. Consider this a blessing, since you will be able to pay off the motorcycle in due time and improve your credit score in the process of doing this.

4. Consider Trading-In

When you have bad credit, one of the most sure-fire ways to get your loan approved is to trade-in another motorcycle. This will lower the purchase price of a new Harley. In other words, the total price will also go down, making it much less risky for the dealer to give you the loan. Best of all, this also makes the Harley much more affordable for you!

5. Talk to a Dealer In-Person!

At the end of the day, the only sure-fire way to guarantee you will get your Harley loan approved is to come by and talk to a dealer in-person. Until the person who actually has the power to approve your loan can see your situation and meet you in person, much of this process is speculative. Visit here to set up an appointment.

2. A Used Harley Might Be Customized

Want to customize your Harley Davidson? Well, if you buy a used bike then it might already be customized! Harley Davidson riders often will customize their new bike after taking it off the lot. When it is returned to the dealer, these customizations usually remain on the motorcycle.

3. Often is Refurbished to Be Like New

If you buy a used Harley Davidson from an authorized dealer, you can confident that various steps were taken to ensure that the quality of the bike was improved to be like-new or as good as brand new condition. Authorized dealers go through many different steps to ensure that used products still uphold a high level of quality.

4. You Might Find a Rare Model

Harley Davidson is one of those brands which constantly comes up with new models and ideas. As a result, some of the most popular and widely-acclaimed legacy models get shoved under the rug. When you buy a used Harley Davidson, you are much more likely to purchase a rare legacy model that cannot be found essentially anywhere else!

5. Everything is Transparent

Things to Check Before Buying a Used Harley Davidson

Getting a used Harley Davidson requires a little bit of effort. Especially if you want to get a model that is in good condition. Many dealers will simply try to sell used motorcycles without doing an effective job informing their clients on the condition. For this reason, Hot Metal Harley-Davidson has prepared the most important things to check for before buying.

Are you Interested in a Used Harley Davidson?

Here at Hot Metal Harley-Davidson, we have a wide range of used Harley Davidsons for sale in PA. If you are shopping around for a used motorcycle, our experienced team of technicians will be able to help you decide which model is best. No pressure, hard-selling, or shady sales tactics. Our job is to help you find the right motorcycle. Click here to find out more.

1. Dings & Minor Damage

If you are shopping around at a used motorcycle dealership, one of the most important things to look for right away is noticeable physical damage. If there are visible dings and dents, either expect the dealer to fix them before buying, or go shop somewhere else. This is really inexcusable.

2. VIN Records

The VIN records of a motorcycle are where you are going to access the most valuable information. This will you see the most detailed information regarding the motorcycle’s history. This includes service records, accidents, thefts, unique features, past ownership records, and much more.

3. Fluid System Quality

You should never buy a used Harley without taking it out for a test ride. During this test ride, one of the most crucial things to look for is whether or not the fluid system is working properly. If there are any fluid leaks, you are probably best off buying another used Harley.

4. Try a Cold Start

When it comes to mechanical issues on a motorcycle, they are much easier to conceal when it starts up in warm conditions. To fully see how effective the engine is at getting started, request to do a cold start. The dealer will completely understand where you are coming from when you ask this.

5. Handlebars, Footrests, & Brakes

If you checked all the previous factors and are still interested in the motorcycle, do one final aesthetic check. Finish by looking at the handlebars, footrests, brakes, and so on. Even the most seemingly-insignificant damage is the leverage that you can use to negotiate with the dealer.

How to Change a Tire on Your New Harley Motorcycle

Owning a Harley is a commitment. In order to make the most out of your time with your new Harley, you need to take the proper steps for maintenance. Here at Hot Metal Harley-Davidson, we offer bad credit Harley Davidson Loans PA. If you already have your Harley and need to learn how to change your tires, this page will help you out.

Is it Easy to Maintain a Harley?

As a general rule of thumb, Harleys are just as easy to maintain, if not easier, than a typical motorcycle from other brands. See here what kind of Harley’s we sell at Hot Metal Harley-Davidson.

One of the most common things you need to do with a Harley, though, is changing your tires. Below, we will break down how this is done!

How to Change a Motorcycle Tire: What You Need

· Valve Core Tool

· Tire Irons

· Windex

· Breezer Tire Tool

· Bead Breaker

· Air Pump

Step 1:Deflate and Remove Old Tire

To start off, what you need to do is use a valve core tool to deflate all of the air out of the tire. Make sure to note which way the tire is supposed to run so you are prepared to install the new one properly. Use the bead breaker to remove the tire from the old tire from the rim.

Step 2: Lubricate and Prepare the New Tire

At this point, we are now ready to install the new tire. The first thing you need to do now is to take your Windex and spray it across the inner walls of your new tire. This will act as a lubricant for the new tire.

Step 3: Install the New Tire to the Rim

Your new tire should have a red dot which indicates the position where you install the tire. The dot should align with your air valve when installed. In addition, make sure that the spin direction matches what you had on the old tire.

Step 4:Use Tire Irons to Evenly Install the New Tire

If you aren’t careful, you can break your rim or new tire during this step. Carefully use tire irons to pry the new tire perfectly in place. Once you think you have everything ready, inflate the tire a little bit until you hear a pop. This pop indicates that the bead has been installed.

Step 5:Fully Inflate and Mount

At this point, you have most of the hard work done. All you need to do now is inflate the tire to the factory-recommended PSI settings and mount the tire in place using the same steps you did to remove the tire in reverse!

Harley Davidson Maintenance Intervals

Getting a new Harley-Davidson requires a little bit of effort in order to properly maintain it. Once the Harley gets its first few thousand miles or so, you quickly start to get into a routine of maintenance. Here at Hot Metal Harley-Davidson, we want you to get the most out of your Harley. Below, we have broken down our suggested maintenance schedule.

Looking to Buy a Used Harley-Davidson Sometime Soon?

Below, we will break down a maintenance schedule which applies to both used and new Harley motorcycles. If you are in the market for a used Harley Davidson for sale in PA, come by our dealership and check out what we have in stock.

500 Miles

Once you hit the first 500 miles on a brand-new Harley, it’s generally a good idea to go in and have your first checkup done. This is especially relevant for higher-end models that you want to get the most out of. A 500-mile checkup is not always necessary but it is always a good idea.

1,000 Miles

When you reach 1,000 miles, it is a good time to go ahead and start your maintenance routine. This is also a good time to do a full checkup on the motorcycle. You should also change your oil, oil filter, and air cleaner at this time.

5,000 Miles

Once you make it to 5,000 miles, you should now know what the basic maintenance routine looks like if you didn’t already. Every maintenance day from here on out should involve an oil change and an oil filter change. In addition, it’s a good idea to have the mechanic conduct a full inspection of the motorcycle.

10,000 Miles

If you make it to 10,000 miles and have only done oil changes and oil filter changes, you should now start to take your maintenance a little more seriously. Things like brake pads, transmission lubricants, drain plugs, and chaincase lubricants are all good things to get done by this point if you haven’t done so already.

15,000 Miles

From here on out, you should have your Harley serviced every 5,000 miles. In some cases, you might decide to change your oil and oil filter every 2,500 miles. However, this is a general rule of thumb to follow. In the event you encounter mechanical issues at any point between your maintenance routine, be sure to take our Harley in right away. 5 Tips for Extending the Life of your Harley Motorcycle

Nobody said that it was easy to maintain a Harley Motorcycle. If you don’t know how to properly care for your Harley, it can easily break down a lot earlier than you expect. Go right here if you need help from a specialist. Don’t worry, though, we have prepared various tips to help you extend your Harley’s life below.

Looking to Buy a New Harley Soon?

Here at Hot Metal Harley-Davidson, we have all the best Harley Davidson for sale in PA. Regardless of whether you want to buy new or used, what your budget range is, our friendly staff will guide you through the process of getting the best deal possible on a new Harley.

1. Buy from an Authorized Dealer

Perhaps it goes without saying, but you take a heavy risk when you buy a Harley from anyone other than an authorized dealer. Buying from an authorized dealer is the ultimate insurance policy, and will provide much more for you in the long-term than just the bike itself.

2. Get Your First Service Done at the Same Dealer

Once you buy a new Harley, it’s important that you take it back to the same authorized dealer you purchased from for its first service. If this is not possible, then you should go to another authorized dealer such as Hot Metal Harley-Davidson

3. Follow Your Maintenance Schedule to the T

The exact maintenance schedule you need to follow generally is dependent on the exact year, make, and model of your Harley. If in doubt, take your Harley into the same dealer for a checkup. Usually, though, you should try to get serviced every 2500 – 5000 miles.

4. Always Check Your Wheels

The wheels are one of the parts of your bike which require the most love and care. Unlike car tires, the tread of the motorcycle that you need to constantly check is throughout the center of the tire. As a general rule of thumb, the tread should be no less than 1 mm.

5. Keep Your Harley Clean

Just like your home, you need to keep your Harley clean. Routinely washing and looking after the many different parts on your Harley is one of the best ways to extend the life of it. Not to mention, your bike looks a lot better while clean and shiny than it does while covered in mud!

5 Reasons to Buy a Harley Instead of a Car

When you think about getting a motorcycle, the first thing that pops into many people’s minds is a Harley. Competing manufacturers have long used Harley as a standard. Here at Hot Metal Harley-Davidson, we are proud to offer bad credit Harley Davidson financing Pittsburgh PA.

Why Are Harley Motorcycles a Better Idea?

For starters, Harley Motorcycles have long been an industry standard of quality for motorcycles, and for good reason. There are various ownership perks, they retain value well, are easy to customize, and are overall a more economic means of transportation than full-size vehicles. Below, we will break down 5 reasons why this is the case.

Harleys are Cheaper than Full-Size Vehicles

If you want to get a brand new traditional 4-door vehicle with all the basics, you will need to have around $15k - $20k sitting around ready to spend. Brand new motorcycles, on the contrary, are often purchased for less than $10k. Be sure to visit here for the latest deals on new Harleys

Gas Mileage

Gas mileage is another reason why Harley motorcycles are an overall better option than a standard vehicle. Expect to get at least 40 miles per gallon on a new Harley. The average automobile, on the contrary, will get anywhere around 20 miles per gallon. This is a drastic difference which can end up costing quite a bit.

The Fun & Convenience Factor

There is nothing quite like the exhilarating feeling that you get with the wind in your hair while driving down the street. No tot mention, next time you are in a traffic jam on a four-lane highway you can take your Harley right down the middle of traffic and save time.

Simple Maintenance

To be clear, getting a motorcycle doesn’t necessarily imply that you have no responsibilities to handle. You will still need to do routine oil changes, tire replacements, and so on. However, many Harley owners handle much of the maintenance on their own. In any case, Harley Motorcycles are always more affordable and easier to maintain than an automobile.

Worldwide Support

Harley Davidson is popular all over the world. It is one of the most widely-acclaimed and recognized brands of motorcycles. Therefore, you will always be able to find a local dealer. If you buy from Hot Metal Harley-Davidson, we will proudly assist you throughout the life of your new Harley!
